Virtual Learning

Visit “one of the wonders of the natural world” without leaving your classroom. No need to schedule transportation or pack a lunch to visit Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park. Our educators and scientists interact with your students through our live, interactive videoconferencing programs.

Virtual Field Trips can be scheduled mid-March through mid-November. Pricing for our virtual field trips can be found below. 

SCHOLARSHIPS
Thanks for generous gifts from the Friends of the University of Nebraska State Museum and Burlington Capital Foundation, Nebraska K-12 teachers may be considered for scholarship finding to cover the Virtual Learning Program Fee.

Funding may also be available from the Nebraska Educational Technology Association through their Virtual Field Trip Mini-grant Program.

Program Details

CAPACITY: Preferred capacity 30 participants. For larger groups, please consult with the VFT educator in advance.

SIGN-UP: 2-3 weeks advance notice appreciated

RESCHEDULING: If a virtual field trip needs to be rescheduled due to unforeseen technical or weather events, we will try to reschedule within the following two weeks at no extra charge.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to the scheduled virtual field trip. Failure to cancel in advance will result in being charged the full price of the program. There is no charge if your program is canceled due to weather or unforeseen technical problems.

Concurrent virtual field trips are encouraged within a school. We request classes be held on same day.
